Penny from heaven is in the 1953s. Penny, an eleven year old girl, finds her summer with so many unpleasant surprises. She dreams of Butter Pecan Ice Cream, swimming, and baseball as the perfect summer. But she can't go swimming because her mom's afraid she'll catch polio. Her uncle lives in his own car. Her grandma cries everytime she hears Penny's father's name. And her mom's and dad's side of the family don't speak to eachother! I couldn't put it down when I started. To see if Penny's summer gets better...please read this book! I mostly recommend this book to girls though.
