Ice cream is a yummy snack that is often eaten after meals. It comes in different colors and flavors.
It's sometimes eaten in a cone and sometimes in a dish. Ice cream almost always melts into a milky
drippy liquid. My favorite type of ice cream is blue moon i have no idea why it just is. Whats your
favorite type of ice cream and why? Please comment and remember don't eat to much ice cream!

Hmmm...I'm interested!

Has anyone read this?
How about this one?
One more...
I think these all look intriguing.  Some may be more for the middle school student than 5th grade, but I'm interested in trying them out.
Now, off to read:
Yes, that's right.  The companion novel to Savvy.
Thanks, Matt :)

A Whole Nother Story

Hi guys,
I just tried that animoto and needless to say- it came out great.
As promised, here's what I created:

Here's a summary
Mr. Ethan Cheeseman is on the run from- it seems everybody.
This book captures his adventures with his three polite, relatively
odor-free children, Hairless, psychic dog Pinky, and snarky sock puppet Steve. Running from evil spies, corporations, ect. isn't easy, but if you have the brilliant scientist Ethan Cheeseman at your side, it's not such a bumpy ride. Every one wants his newly invented Luminal Velocity Regulator (LVR). Who wouldn't want a time machine? The Cheesemans encouter a cowboy poet, a traveling circus sideshow and more!
A Whole Nother Story is a must read!!!

Saxby Smart Private Detective in The Curse of The Ancient Mask and Other Case Files

Tonight, I kind of finished reading the first part of Saxby Smart Private Detective in The Curse of The Ancient Mask and Other Case Files. I love this book because Saxby is a detective and he solves mysteries and asks you questions like you are his sidekick. This book really gets you thinking. I love the humor and characters in this book. This is just book 1 of the series. I just started reading it today. I checked this book out at the library. I was never really in to mystery books but now I am. I hope to be reading more of this series, and will post more when I finish reading the entire thing.

I Talked about the book A Whole Nother Story in class today. This story is about Mr. Ethan Cheeseman and his three polite, relatively odor-free children. Throughout the book, the author, Dr. Cuthbert Soup is doling out unsolicited advice. I find this advice to be quite humorous. Keep your eyes out for I am creating a book trailer. Coming soon!

I love the book Fablehaven because it is a mix of fantasy and mystery
I know it is a creepy cover but you know what they say, you can't judge a book by it's cover. Anyway this book is about twins Kendra and Seth going to their Grandpa's house while there parents go onto a cruse line. At first they think that their Grandpa's house is boring, until they find something that would change their lives forever. Milk. Now I bet your thinking "what is so important about milk?" well, I'll tell you. the milk is magic. It allows Kendra and Seth to see magical creatures, like faries and golems, then they realise that their Grandpa's house isn't as boring as they thought. Then they are pulled into a journey that will depend on them to protect their Grandpa's humble sanctuary, and everything that lives there. Along the way they will solve smaller mysteries, like what happened to their dear Grandma, who disappeared a long time ago.
If you think this book is to serious, don't worry, their are funny parts in the book to. I would highly recommend this book to everyone because it is a mixture of many genres.
I hope you like the book!

Lemon

Hey it's Maddy from AZ. This is the introduction to my new story...let
me know what you think!
Lemon

Why, hello. My name is Lemon. Yes, that's my real name, Lemon.
I am an 8year old living in a small town in China. Nothing much ever
happens in our quaint, little town. I am pretty much the odd ball of
the place, but I am also rather timid.
I go to school and play with my friends, I am a normal kid.
Except for my one set-back, extreme anxiety. I have a fear of swimming,
my father drowned a few years back. I haven't been the same since. So,
it's just me and Mama in our quaint, little Chinese town.
My school is called Wet Bend elementary. Why it's called Wet
Bend, no one knows. The man who started the school died at the age of
46, before anyone asked him. Wet Bend is small, it only has about 400
kids. Everyone knows everyone else's name. I love it at Wet Bend. I fit in well there.
At the end of the school year, my mother made an announcement.
" We're going on vacation!" she screamed.
" We're going to go on a plane!" now it was my turn to scream!
We were going on vacation, but what I didn't know then was that this
vacation would be one that changed my life forever.

The Watsons Go to Birmingham 1963

I read this book for my book report it is a really good book i think you should read it this is a adventure filled book. hope you read it some time
I am starting a new story for the day I got my dog. I have been writing this story since 1st grade. I can only put the first part. I never finished it yet because I started it today. I hope you like it.

A Dog Day
I was at the airport and all I wanted to do was see my Aunt Mary. She lives in Florida, it's almost like it was the first time I ever saw her. It wasn't at all. I have been waiting for hours just waiting to see her. I wondered, Where is she at the moment? Did I miss her? I am sitting, with my family, at a table shoving down my breadsticks, staring out searching for her. I soon get nervous that I am never going to see her.
I am sitting in an airport chair all comfy, but almost asleep. I try to keep myself awake just in case my Aunt Mary comes. My head is swaying but the sound of a phone buzzing frightens me.
"Hello?" My mom answers.
"Hello, Donna?" The other line replies.
"Yes, Who is this?" My mom asked.
"It is Mary. I am sorry to say but my flight got cancelled. I am very sorry." Auny Mary explains.
"O, that is fine." My mom replies sadly, "Bye," my mom continues and hangs up.
Part 2 will come soon.

Turtle In Paradise

Turtle In Paradise

This is currently on my nightstand...I know, I know, it is time to pick it up and read it.  You know how they say "Don't judge a book by its cover?"  Well, I'm judging.  The cover is fine and all--I like beaches and starfish, but I just can't seem to start this one.  It did win the Newbery Honor, so I think it is time I give it a try.  Here is the book trailer:
I'll let you know what I think.  Have any of you read it?  If so, what are your thoughts?

Out of My Mind

Now that we have all read this book, let's discuss:

Truly, I loved it.  I loved that I waited and read it for the first time with you, my class.  I loved that Sharon Draper was realistic.  The characterization was AMAZING!  I loved Melody, Catherine, Mrs. V.  I loathed Molly and Claire, but I also realize that those kids, those adults, exist, and they exist everywhere.  I felt compassion for Rose because I could see her struggling with knowing that she should show kindness to Melody, but also the struggle of trying to fit in.  I loved the story-line.  I found myself outraged at Mr. Dimming and his complete lack of tact, compassion and understanding of his students' needs.
I could go on and on.  Perhaps I will later in a more formal review, but first, I want to know what all of you thought.  Did you like it?  What did it make you feel?  If you could ask Ms. Draper something, what would it be?  Should we read it aloud another year?
Lastly, enjoy your weekend!
-Mrs. N.

Closed for the Season* is a great mix of mystery, adventure, and excitment. I totally loved this book. Just don't judge this book by it's cover! Closed for the Season is about a boy named Logan who moves into a house which had a murder in it before he moved in. His neighbor Arthur go on a dangerous investigation to find this killer**. What happens to this killer? Do they even find the killer? What will happen to Logan and Arthur? What will happen in the whole book? Find out by reading: Closed for the Season.
*I recommend this book VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY much. I recommend you read it aloud also.

**Do not worry. No major violence is in this book. Maybe just a few punches or slaps. Nothing serious.

Sorry I know I just posted but I want to tell you about my book report book. I know most of you have read or seen the movie Matilda, but if you haven't it's really good. I think Roald Dahl is a great author and I can't wait to read more of his books. There are so many more than just Matilda.

*Justine :)
Its Justine. Natalie I think your story is amazing! I wish I could read the whole thing right now, but I don't think it's finished. But it's weird because I feel like I'm reading Where the Red Fern Grows. Good job!
Hey it's Natalie i am writing a story and i dont know if it is that good can you give me some feed back so i'll know if i should keep writing or not.

It all started in the year 1912 the year when thousands of dreams including mine where answered. It was March 21 when my parents somehow gambled the four tickets off of some scum who lives on the street. Some strange things happened after the first day. Mama started acting sick really really sick. Every day she would either sleep for hours and hours or cry, vomit, or talk to her self in bad ways. On April 3rd mamas sickness got even worse. One night mama was talking to herself when papa was getting our crates of food, salted biscuits, and water. I heard a faint voice. " Dear God, may you carry my family to greatness after i pass." It made me teary, and frightened to think about life without mama. On April 5th at 3:15 mamas prayers were answered god took her for the better and the 11 years i spent with her where filled with laughter. When i saw the bold looking men cover mama in a black tarp papa and my sisters were sobbing. I was sad but it did not make me cry it made me think of all of the memories she had and created with me.

Thanks for reading a little bit of my story tell me if you like it and if you want me to keep reading
